Diva at the Met Rebrand

Scope

Visual identity elements (colour palette, fonts, typography, monogram + wordmark, menu design, sandwich boards), photoshoot art direction, and language development (expressions, word bank, long description)

Objective

Serving Vancouver locals and international guests of the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver for nearly 40 years, Diva at the Met has earned a special place in the hearts of many, but its business volumes suggested it was time for a change. With a new chef and a bold new culinary direction in the works, this Vancouver fixture was ready to make a grand (re)entrance into the market with a fresh look and vibrant story. Because the space itself wasn't being updated, we focused on other elements of the experience, like community, world-class hospitality, and culinary innovation.

Results

Diva's newly redesigned brand elements were used across digital platforms and marketing mediums, including: the hotel website; third-party booking sites; social media; keycard inserts; sandwich board signage; print collateral; and more. This brand kit was also used as an internal resource, connecting new and existing employees to the new Diva brand with consistent messaging to share with sales clients and hotel guests. To complete the Diva brand transformation, we provided creative direction for photography, resulting in a collection of striking, cohesive assets for use across channels.

Not only is Danielle responsive and efficient, she’s extremely talented at what she does and continues to blow me (and our hotel and restaurant teams) away! She produces quality work (always within our timelines) and has been a true asset in our rebrand. She's an awesome extension to our Sales & Marketing team.

H2 Kitchen + Bar Caption Copy

Scope

E-mail campaigns, social media captions, event descriptions

Objective

This Vancouver restaurant is challenging the conventions of traditional hotel dining with a concept that braves uncharted territory. Located at The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver, H2 Kitchen + Bar is a destination for Southern-style comfort food, with smokehouse classes like pulled pork, brisket, ribs, and hot chicken on the menu. While serving as a hub for curing carnivorous cravings, H2 also boasts an impressive beverage menu, with a curated bourbon, local tap, and international wine selection on offer. Such a distinct concept calls for a brand voice to match, which is precisely what we pulled off throughout this project. We tapped into the personality of a Dad in his late-40s, reliving his golden years and offering up 80s references, quippy expressions, and tongue-in-cheek humour to charm our community of social followers and e-mail subscribers.

Results

Through our social caption partnership (June, 2024 - Dec, 2024) we were able to greatly impact the client's engagement rate on social media (contributing to a sustained increase in likes, comments, shares and saves). Through punchy and strategic e-mail subject lines, we saw an increase in e-mail opens (by nearly 10%), and through entertaining, conversational language in the body of the e-mails, we accomplished higher click-through rates to booking platforms where tickets/reservations are secured.

Kate Gateley Website Copy + Book Launch

Scope

Website copy + creative direction, social media launch strategy + caption writing, press kit design, e-mail marketing campaigns, social media advertising.

Objective

Canadian Author, Kate Gateley first came to us with a desire to introduce her trilogy to the world by creating a digital experience that reflected the magic between the pages of her contemporary fantasy series. To pull this off, we collaborated with Web Designer, Alex Rakic to bring a website brimming with otherworldly enchantment and west coast charm to life. We also helped with Kate's initial e-mail marketing campaign strategy, offering subscribers juicy novel teasers, audiobook soundbites, and launch updates to nurture her community. We also loved working on Kate's social media launch strategy, theming posts, highlight bubbles, giveaways, and captions after each instalment in the series. The icing on top of the cake was creating a professional press kit for Kate to present to media and potential retailers; we coupled captivating visual elements with the essential information and strategic calls to action for a polished, quality finished product.

Results

Collaborating on this project was pure magic. It’s not every day that your work takes you to a spellbinding mystical reality, but I’m sure glad it did in this case! Kate’s bold, courageous pursuit into novel writing was beyond inspiring (especially since I was newly venturing into entrepreneurship when our partnership began). Not only did she invest in my marketing services, but she cleverly sourced video producers, actors, and photographers to bring her vision for the ultimate immersive reading experience to life through unrivalled visuals. This made my work a walk in the park, resulting in a sleek and intuitive website, thoughtful social media strategy, functional press kit, and a sharp sequence of e-mails to offer subscribers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Kate’s journey as an author. Kate’s hard work has led to well-deserved award wins and nominations, and two published novels and audiobooks, with a final instalment to be released later this year.

Contrary to what many might think, the idea of tackling web copy and social media as a contemporary fantasy author was a daunting prospect. Thankfully, Danielle was able to step in at the perfect moment and turn my ideas into something truly magical. Danielle is a whiz, making social marketing feel fun and easier to approach.
